It’s a bittersweet farewell for Diego Luna.
Because the Star Wars actor walked the crimson carpet for tonight’s second season premiere occasion for Lucasfilm/Disney+‘s Andor, held at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre, he bid adieu to the character he originated in 2016’s Rogue One.
“I stated goodbye to this character after we wrapped,” he advised Deadline. “I had a stupendous alternative to speak to the crew, to speak to the solid. [Creator] Tony Gilroy gave these lovely phrases, we had a drink, we hugged, we cried. I’m going to overlook this household.”
Season 2, which shot in London, follows the journey of Cassian Andor, who would in the end function a forefather of the Revolt in Star Wars. Season 1 ended with him on a freighter teaming with Stellan Skarsgård’s Luthen Rael, one other Revolt lynchpin. The ultimate installment will hint the character’s life till the ultimate moments main as much as Rogue One. (Spoiler: the character dies on the finish of that movie.)
Luna stated he’ll cherish the present he and the staff “delivered and that may keep there without end, but it surely’s the dynamic, it’s my daily life — what I’ve to say goodbye to.
