Judd Apatow is breaking floor because the Academy Museum of Movement Footage‘ first-ever visitor curator for its upcoming comedy movie exhibition.
Set to debut in April 2027, the museum introduced the sequence on Friday as the author, director and producer participated in a twentieth anniversary screening of his function directorial debut The 40-12 months-Outdated Virgin (2005) with the film’s solid.
“The cat is out of the bag! I’ll be working with the Academy Museum to showcase a few of my favourite movies and filmmakers all through the ages,” stated Apatow in a press release. “I’m honored to curate this undertaking alongside the museum’s gifted staff and with entry to the Academy Assortment. We hope to depart guests impressed and, in fact, with an enormous smile on their faces.”
The untitled exhibition would be the Academy Museum’s first devoted to the artwork of comedy in movie, using a few of the 52 million gadgets within the Academy Assortment.

Apatow was joined Friday by 40-12 months-Outdated Virgin stars Steve Carell, Catherine Keener, Jane Lynch, Kat Dennings and Gerry Bednob, taking part in a panel earlier than the anniversary screening.
Since making his directorial debut with the 2005 comedy, Apatow has added such titles as Knocked Up (2007), Humorous Folks (2009), This Is 40 (2012), Trainwreck (2015), The King of Staten Island (2020) and The Bubble (2022) to his repertoire.
