EXCLUSIVE: ZDF Studios has acquired worldwide distribution rights to Black Fruit (Schwarze Früchte), the buzzy debut collection from actor-writer Lamin Leroy Gibba.
A co-production between Jünglinge Movie, Studio Zentral, and ARD Degeto, Black Fruit debuted eventually yr’s Tribeca Movie Competition earlier than a highly-publicized launch on ARD in Germany.
Set in modern Hamburg, the collection follows the journey of mid-twenty Lalo (Gibba) as he grapples with the sudden lack of his father, embarking on a tumultuous path of impulsive choices that reverberate by his life and people round him. Alongside his bold finest good friend Karla, Lalo strives to outline his identification amidst societal pressures and private struggles. The present is among the first serial productions in Germany to chronicle the lives of Queer folks of coloration.
