TOP OF THE POPS: Jean Paul Gaultier‘s post-runway profession in cabaret-style revues goes swimmingly.
On Tuesday, Berlin’s Friedrichstadt-Palast mentioned its present Grand Present, titled “Falling | In Love” and curated by Gaultier, simply grew to become the highest performer within the theater’s 100-year historical past, each by way of attendance and revenues.

As curator and visible design director of “Falling | In Love”, Gaultier conscripted the alien-looking Canadian couple referred to as Fecal Matter, and the Russian efficiency artist Sasha Frolova, synonymous with latex and summary varieties, to design costumes for sure scenes. He took care of roughly 400 costumes himself, reprising his cone bras, caged tailoring and sailor silhouettes with a flashy disco gloss.
