Longlegs director Osgood Perkins and his producing accomplice Chris Ferguson have launched manufacturing banner Phobos with backing from Neon.
Beneath the first-look deal, Neon will home movies that Perkins writes and directs, in addition to these he produces for different filmmakers. Neon will launch the options theatrically within the U.S. and symbolize the worldwide rights. Perkins will proceed to work with producer Brian Kavanaugh-Jones of Vary.
The settlement cements Neon’s relationship with Perkins, who has established himself as an influential pressure within the horror style. Neon acquired Longlegs, starring Maika Monroe and Nicolas Cage, and The Monkey, based mostly on the quick story by Stephen King. Longless broke the $100M barrier globally, making it Neon‘s highest-grossing movie ever and the best-performing indie horror for the previous 10 years.
Neon may even launch Perkins’ subsequent movie, Keeper, in October. A teaser trailer for the film will drop on YouTube on Wednesday at 12.06PM PT.
“There’s just one Osgood Perkins — fearless, deeply imaginative, relentlessly humorous and working on a frequency that’s all his personal,” mentioned Neon CEO Tom Quinn. “His work lingers with you, burrows into your mind as all nice artwork does. With Neon as his inventive dwelling, Oz will proceed to prepare dinner, pushing the boundaries of his ever-expanding cinematic universe.”
The primary-look deal was negotiated by Neon, with Perkins repped by CAA, Untitled, and Lichter, Grossman, Nichols, Feldman, Rogal, Shikora & Clark, Inc.
