Nikki Glaser is wanting again at her time internet hosting the Golden Globes and acknowledging that the joke she made about Selena Gomez’s fiancé, Benny Blanco, was “fairly imply.”
In a dialog on the Time100 Summit this week, the comic admitted to having “a status of being imply” attributable to her appearances on the roast specials, including, “However I’m employed to [be] imply for these.”
“Golden Globes, it’s not my job to spoil their night time,” she stated.
Through the 2025 Golden Globes in January, Glaser joked, “Selena Gomez is right here with Benny Blanco, her new fiancé, and Benny Blanco is right here due to the genie who granted him that want.”
Recalling the joke, Glaser admits that the joke “was form of imply,” including, “I stated that Selena Gomez is right here due to Emilia Pérez and Benny Blanco is right here as a result of the genie granted him that one want, and searching again, I used to be like that was fairly imply.”
“As a result of everybody’s like he’s not enticing sufficient for her and for me, I by no means checked out them and truly thought that,” she stated. “I really feel like she gained too with it, like I believe he’s actually cool.”
The slapstick comedian stated that she took the recommendation from Jimmy Kimmel after the guy comic informed her, “If you happen to’re anxious a couple of joke, and the way it’s going to go over, simply ask them.”
Earlier than making the joke on TV, Glaser stated she texted Blanco and ran the quip by him.
