As The Who prepares to embark on their North American farewell tour, the 60-year outdated rock group’s saga with drummer Zak Starkey continues.
Following Starkey’s introduced departure final month, and founding member Pete Townshend‘s issued correction, the drummer stated on Sunday that he’s been fired from the band as soon as once more.
“I used to be fired two weeks after reinstatement and requested to make a press release saying I had stop The Who to pursue my different musical [endeavors],” wrote Starkey on Instagram. “This might be a lie. I like The Who and would by no means had stop. Starkey introduced in April that he was exiting the band after he “suffered a critical medical emergency with blood clots in my proper bass drum calf,” which is “now fully healed and doesn’t have an effect on my drumming or working.”
Following experiences that lead singer Roger Daltrey had friction with Starkey throughout a current efficiency during which he couldn’t hear over the drums, Starkey stated he was “shocked and saddened anybody would have a problem with my efficiency that evening, however what are you able to do?”
